BAR & BAT MITZVAH PROJECTS
ELEM is a wonderful cause for bar and bat mitzvahs. Many of the youth ELEM serves are close to bar/bat mitzvah age, so they feel a special connection to these youth. ELEM can design an inspiring mitzvah project that will give participants a real sense they are helping their contemporaries in Israel. Examples include pen pal relationships or raising money to put a TV or other needed items in a drop in-center. If bar/bat mitzvah youth is musically inclined, they could raise money to purchase a musical instrument for an ELEM program that uses music therapy and write and record a special song for the ELEM youth who participate in those programs. There are countless ways that youth here can make a difference in the lives of youth in Israel. Please contact us if you would like to discuss an ELEM mitzvah project.
VOLUNTEER
ELEM volunteers are integral to every part of the organization’s functioning. As the largest volunteer organization in Israel, ELEM boasts close to 2,000 volunteers who participate in activities including field work, mentoring, administrative support and fundraising.
ELEM’s American Board is comprised of lay and professional volunteers who contribute to ELEM by raising funds, producing events, promoting an exchange of professional knowledge between Israel and America, raising awareness of ELEM’s activities and financial advising.
